The First ENCORE party Proudly presents
YACHT which is one of the many creative alter egos of Jona Bechtolt, a musician and multimedia artist who embraces an eclectic but playful blend of electronics, acoustic percussion, and noises of all sorts. Bechtolt took up music as a teenager, dropping out of high school to play drums in a touring punk band with his brother, and in the latter part of the ’90s, he began working with electronics.
Bechtolt teamed up with vocalist and performance artist Khaela Maricich to form the Blow, whose upbeat blend of beats and off-kilter melodies won them a loyal following after releasing the first of several albums for K Records in 2002.
In 2003, Bechtolt unveiled Yacht, his solo project, with the largely instrumental album Super Warren MMIV, released by States Rights Records. A year later, Bechtolt teamed with the Marriage label for a 10″ vinyl Yacht album Mega 10, which was re-released as a CD with accompanying DVD of Bechtolt’s digital filmmaking.
The third Yacht album, I Believe in You. Your Magic Is Real, arrived in the spring of 2007, a true indie-pop/electronic hybrid, presenting both a rock-based sound with deemphasized guitar and fewer tired post-punk influences, and an electronic adventurism.
When not occupied with Yacht or the Blow, Bechtolt has worked as a collaborator and/or accompanist for Devendra Banhart, Bobby Birdman, Mirah, Little Wings, the Microphones, and many others, as well as remixing tracks for Architecture in Helsinki and White Rainbow.
Bechtolt is also the founder of the Urban Honking blog collective, helmed the online reality-show satire The Ultimate Blogger, and has created performance pieces under commission to New York City’s New Museum of Contemporary Art and the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art.

ERIC DUNCAN is the 1/2 of the Rub n Tug And the 1/2 Of The Still Going
Rub n Tug it is born out of a common interest in disco rock and booze
The party takes place sporadically in strictly after hours venues insuring them and their friends that they can do as they please
Loft’s . Galleries . Bordello’s . New York Night Life
He started laying their sleaze onto an unprepared but energetic crowd of down-town types who had never really had the opportunity or the reason to wild-out on the dancefloor in the way these two dudes had been doing all along
Eric came to New York from LA where he grew up absorbing all the magic of house parties and BBQ jams LA Style
When he moved to NY in ‘96 this > Party Time ! < approach to the night-life was nurtured playing all the sleaziest Lofts and Bars of down-town
The two of them met , clicked and got to it
They have a weekly at Gavin Browns’ Passerby called ‘campFIRE’
They have remixes and re-edit’s in the stores and ‘Rub n Tug Records’ in the works
Still Going
Liv and Eric met many years ago at the now infamous Rui’s Loft in lower Manhattan… where Eric spun now-legendary sweaty late night parties as one half of the New York DJ duo Rub-N-Tug. In the time since, Eric’s Rub N Tug project began to take off, DJ’ing around the world, releasing mix CD’s on Eskimo, Fabric and aNYthing Records and remixes for LCD Soundsystem, Coldplay, Roxy Music and the Beastie Boys. Liv also was DJ’ing extensively, and he released singles and remixes under several aliases on labels such as Fine, Kitsune, Rong, C & S, Poker Flat and Ibadan. He also began to engineer and provide additional programing on numerous Rub’n'Tug releases and remixes, further cementing the relationship.
Even before its commercial release, ‘Still Going Theme’ was featured in Prins Thomas’s Essential Mix for the BBC’s Radio 1. The song has also been included on James Murphy and Pat Mahoney’s (LCD Soundsystem) Fabric Live mix. “On And On” is feautured on the new Force Of Nature mix on Mule Musiq.
Still Going are currently in production for their 2nd 12″. Watch for their remixes of !!! , Force Of Nature, Low Motion Disco, and The Presets out Winter 2008.
They’re at a disco near you !!!!
